New dress handmade for laboheme

This day I try to finish a dress that I made myself ...inspired by a 1940s French  day dress ... I made myself the pattern ...

I have a beautiful piece of birds printed cotton dated from 1930s but it was too small to make a dress or a skirt  ... so i mixed it with a recent tiny geometrical printed velvet ...

I just have to buy a zipper to put on one side (it will be easier to put and remove ...)

That's my dress in fabrication ...

Next time i will add the pictures of the dress finished (with the zipper)

 

Petit Trianon My first handmade skirt to sale

Today ,i finish my first handmade skirt... It was a very long time that i didn't sew...

I made a very simple flared skirt ,with " pleats on each side of the waist ,one zip at the side ...

I used a beautiful vintage fabric ,in france we call that "Toile de Jouy" ;;;it was a curtain that I trifted last autumn...

i am pretty satisfied...maybe the button on the belt can be better ... I have some fabric to make an other one...

I will try to do some 1930s,1940s,1950s skirts and dresses as in France now it's almost impossible to find...
